Branch Prediction Research Students: Marcos de Alba Recent Participants: Svetlana Sokolova Tracy Tao Philip Emma (IBM Research) Yue Liu (Cascade Communications) Faculty: David Kaeli Project Summary: T his research continues past work on dynamic branch prediction. The focus is on the high-level language branch constructs responsible for incorrect branch prediction. Current work investigates both static and dynamic branch prediction, looking for improved compiler techniques to improve the predictability of branches, as well how to accurately predict multiple branches per cycle.
