Ongoing Projects:

Project: DC-AC PV Inverter
Description: Develop a new operation and control strategy to reduce the requirement of DC link bus capacitance in single-phase PV interverters, and thus eliminate electrolytic capcitors and increase whole system lifetime.

Project: Universal Converter Design
Description: Design a universal converter that can be used as DC-DC, DC-AC, AC-DC, single phase or three phase, and thus suitable for different applications, PV, Wind, Motor, etc. By using advanced FPGA control, ultra fast SiC MOSFETs, and new control strategy, this converter will be highly compact, with high efficiency and long-lifetime. (Funded by ARPA-E from the U.S. Department of Engery)
