Abstract:

Chromophore and blood vessel monitoring is an important aspect in most of skin studies. It is closely related to various skin diseases development and diagnosis . Recent studies reveals that hemoglobin concentration observed may deviate from its true distribution due to the fact that blood vessels contains all hemoglobin, which makes blood vessel imaging possible by the packaging effect. Among optical skin imaging techniques, Multi-Spectral Imaging is a fast, stable method to provide both spatial and spectral information. In this poster, we present a reflectance Multi-Spectral imaging method combined with inhomogeneous Monte-Carlo modeling to determine chromophore concentration and blood vessel geometry.
