Being one of the leading departments of Northeastern University, the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department is known for its student-centered and practice-oriented programs and has a great deal to offer to its students both at the undergraduate and graduate level. Northeastern University's signature coop program provides the students a unique learning model, which links classroom learning with work experience. Furthermore, our undergraduate students have numerous opportunities to participate in our department's research projects as well as in various activities sponsored by the IEEE and Honor Societies.
Our department has grown significantly both in size and stature over the years and currently has 40 full-time faculty members with 7 recipients of NSF/CAREER awards and 8 IEEE Fellows. The department has centers of excellence in Sensing and Imaging (NSF Engineering Research Center for Subsurface Sensing and Imaging Systems - CenSSIS) and nanomanufacturing (NSF Center for High Rate Nanomanufacturing). Our faculty members have active research programs in the areas of Communications and Signal Processing, Controls, Power Systems and Power Electronics, Computer Engineering, Fields/ Waves and Optics, Micro/ Nano/ Electron-systems and Devices.
My colleagues and I aspire to receive the best minds, to provide them with the best engineering education and to produce the future leaders in our profession. Please feel free to contact me at
