Electrical Engineering Major
You will learn how to design and implement a wide range of hardware and software systems. Compared with computer engineering, the emphasis is more on hardware, and on a wider range of computer and electronic systems, including signal processing (audio, video, sensors, etc), power, wireless, robotics, integrated circuits, devices, and nanotechnology. This major gives you the flexibility to take almost any minor, or to choose a wide range of electives from across Northeastern University.
The EE program can be completed in five years with three cooperative education terms of six months each, or in four years with two coop terms. These links will show you a sample curriculum for each option.
Combined Major in Electrical Engineering and Physics
This combined major will give you a more in-depth, more fundamental knowledge of the physical aspects of the systems and devices that are used in electrical and computer engineering, and of the world in general.
This program can be completed in five years with three cooperative education terms.
If you know you are interested in a MS degree, you may wish to apply for the 5-year BS/MS program in EE or CE. This program will combine undergraduate and graduate courses in the final two years, allowing you to complete both degrees along with two cooperative education experiences.
