  1. To give its students the best possible training for a rewarding career in the engineering profession, beginning either with employment immediately after graduation or through entry into graduate studies.

It is inherent in this mission that the education include both a mastery of the current state-of-the-art as well as a broad range of fundamental knowledge and skills that will allow the student to adjust and adapt to the rapidly changing technical field of electrical and computer engineering through every stage in his or her career.
  3. This implies a broad grounding in basic science and mathematics as well as communications and career management skills, and awareness of the how societal and historical context affects electrical and computer engineering practice.
