Packing List
Here's a very incomplete packing list. We'll add to it as we
think of things. If you have questions, ask, and we'll discuss.
- It is hot in Taipei in the summer; bring lots of shorts, sandals,
t-shirts, and
comfortable walking shoes.
- Bring one nice outfit (not coat and tie, but nice enough for
meetings with industry people).
- Pack enough prescription medications to last a week longer than
you think you need, just in case. Carry these in
your carry-on bag. Do not check them. Tylenol and similar
familiar OTC
medications are readily available in Taipei.
- Don't forget your passport. Have it in your
pocket or carry-on bag. You will need it several times at the
airport.
- Bring a watch so you don't need your American phone to find the
time.
- Bring your laptop. Make sure you have access to Matlab for the
course. You'll want your laptop to stay in touch with family and
friends back home.
- Bring 2-3 prong adapters for electric outlets if you need them.
- Bring your favorite deodorant stick. These are not as common in
Taiwan.
- You may want to bring a water bottle.
