VISA INFORMATION
ACM issues letters for attendees to submit in support of their visa
applications. The letters are on ACM letterhead, as sponsor of the
conference, and contain a description of the conference in terms of its
technical nature and subject matter (taken from the Call for
Papers). Ginger Ignatoff, Program Director, SIG services, from ACM is the
the contact for these letters for SIGMOBILE conferences, so please feel
free to requests letter to her at ignatoff@acm.org.
For those who are authors of papers, keynote speakers, session chairs,
program committee members, student volunteers, or have other
responsibilities with the conference, ACM will include the specifics about
that participation. Such letters will be completed and sent to the person
as quickly as possible.
For conferences happening in the United States, ACM recommends those
seeking visas review information on a couple of websites. The first
website has links to
U.S. embassies and consulates where visa applications are processed.
These individual websites usually have very helpful information about
current procedures, documentation to bring to visa application interviews,
delays in processing or interviews, and recent changes in visa
requirements. More general information about visiting the United States
is available here.
